Men’s Volleyball Prevails 3-0 at Northern Vermont-Johnson
JOHNSON, Vt.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team blanked Northern Vermont-Johnson 3-0 Friday evening on the road to snap a three-match skid.
The Lions improve to 3-3 on the season and 3-2 in the New England Collegiate Conference with the victory. The Badgers slide to 0-4 overall and 0-4 in league competition with the result.
Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) notched his first collegiate double-double, posting a team-high 10 kills and 10 digs. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) finished with seven kills while Leonel Caceres (Newington, Conn.) recorded 11 digs, nine assists, and three kills on the night.
The visitors rolled to a 25-15 win in the opening set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Eastern Nazarene edged Northern Vermont-Johnson 26-24 in the second frame to capture a 2-0 advantage.
The Lions triumphed 27-25 in the third set to seal their third conference victory of the year.
Dominic Phelps paced the home team with eight kills and eight digs while Jason Madrid added 20 assists and nine digs.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene returns to the Lahue Athletic Center to host a pair of matches against Northern Vermont-Johnson March 27.
