Men’s Tennis Swept at St. Thomas (Fla.), 7-0
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at St. Thomas University Tuesday.
The Lions slip to 5-4 on the year with the setback while the Bobcats improve to 4-4 overall.
Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Carlos Sanchez (Malaga, Spain) fell 6-1 at the No. 1 doubles spot to Lucas Ribas and Thomas Andrews.
Iago Alcover (Mallorca, Spain) and Baldo Karinja (Zadar, Croatia) suffered a 6-2 setback to Luis Leon and Jacob Turley at the second position.
Simao Nobre (Lisbon, Portugal) and Avelino Parrondo (Madrid, Spain) absorbed a 6-1 loss at the third slot to Raul Safont Martinez and Alessandro Tabares.
Rodrgiuez dropped a 6-0, 6-3 decision at the top singles spot to Tomas Pejanovic while Alcover fell 6-0, 6-2 to Safont Martinez at the No. 2 slot.
Nobre endured a 6-2, 6-2 loss at the No. 3 position to Tabares and Sachez fell to Adria Aguilar Guerrero 6-2, 6-1 in the fourth singles match.
Diego Torres (Weston, Fla.) suffered a 6-0, 6-2 setback at the fifth spot to Juan Fernandez Patino Pabon while Karinja dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at the No. 6 position to Turley.
