Men’s Tennis Coasts Past Clark, 9-0
DUDLEY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's tennis team collected a 9-0 victory at Clark Friday afternoon.
The Lions improve to 2-0 on the year with the win while the Cougars slide to 1-2 overall.
Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Carlos Sanchez (Malaga, Spain) downed Darly Vykhodtsev and Ryan Hovey 8-4 at the top doubles spot.
Carlos Gomez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Avelino Parrondo (Madrid, Spain) rolled to an 8-0 victory at the No. 2 position over Holden Moore and Duncan Drapeau.
Iago Alcover (Mallorca, Spain) and Baldo Karinja (Zadar, Croatia) notched an 8-3 win at the third slot over Aidan Hurtado and Josh Podolsky.
Rodriguez posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Hovey at No. 1 singles position while Simao Nobre (Lisbon, Portugal) bested Podolsky 6-1, 6-3 at the second spot.
Alcover topped Hurtado 6-0, 6-2 in the third singles match and Gomez earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 4 slot over Drapeau.
Sanchez cruised past Moore 6-, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles spot while Carlos Gallardo (Tulua, Colombia) breezed by Adrian Ramirez at the sixth position 6-0, 6-1.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will compete at the Colby-Sawyer Invitational October 10.
