Bio

Conrad Whyte Jr. enters his second season with the Eastern Nazarene College men’s soccer program. Whyte brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the ENC men's soccer program this fall. His coaching philosophy stresses commitment. He teaches his players that when talking about commitment, “you are either in or out, there is no grey area.” Whyte will apply this idea to every aspect of his job as assistant coach this fall.

Conrad Whyte Jr. was born in St. John's, Antigua to Bernadine Philip and Conrad Whyte Sr.

Whyte received his soccer training through the Empire Soccer Club (Antigua) before continuing on to John Brown University (Arkansas) where he was a four year varsity player. Whyte was named NAIA All-American honorable mention in 1994 as well as NAIA Player of the Year for the Oklahoma/Arkansas section in 1994.

Following college, Whyte played 12 years for his country’s National Team while training in countries such as Brazil, Germany, Mexico, Spain and England. He was a striker for the National Team of Antigua and Barbuda. He holds the record for career goals scored, 158, in his country’s top division. He is also the single season record holder for goals scored with 26, a feat he accomplished in two separate seasons. He won the Golden Boot award in his country four consecutive years (1997-2001) for his average of 21 goals per season and was named, “Footballer of the Year” in 1998.

As a coach, Whyte has coached at the top levels in Antigua for eight years becoming the head coach for Empire, the same team he represented as a player. Upon moving to the United States in October of 2011, he began coaching at the America FC Academy in Quincy, Mass. where he coaches currently.

Whyte believes that it is his responsibility to each of his players to have a vision for who they can be in each and every area of life and communicate it to them in a way that encourages and challenges them to pursue it.

Whyte currently holds a USSF B License as well as a USSF National Youth License.

He lives near ENC in Quincy, Mass.
