CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team endured a 1-0 setback at Lesley in the regular-season finale Wednesday evening.
The Lions finish the regular season with a 13-3-0 overall record to go with a 4-2-0 mark in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with the outcome. The Lynx improve to 8-9-0 on the year and 5-1-0 in league action with the victory.
The home side seized a 1-0 edge in the 10th minute. Jack Wadleigh bagged his team-leading 11th marker of the season as he converted a penalty kick.
Lesley hung onto its narrow 1-0 lead at the halftime intermission despite Eastern Nazarene owning an 11-1 margin in first-half shot attempts.
The Lions generated 13 shots in the second stanza but were unable to net an equalizer as the Lynx clinch the top spot in the NECC final regular-season standings.
Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) finished with a pair of saves between the posts.
