Men’s Soccer Sweeps NECC Weekly Awards for Second-Straight Week
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Junior Charlie Swann (London, England) and freshman Bryan Vargas (San Jose, Costa Rica) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team have been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced the league office Monday.
The duo helped the Lions extend their program-record winning-streak to 13-straight games with a pair of victories on the week.
Swann netted a goal in each of Eastern Nazarene's matches on the week to increase his league-leading total to 14 tallies. Swann also picked up an assist as the Lions topped Salve Regina 5-3 for the first time since 2002.
Vargas notched a pair of goals in Eastern Nazarene's thrilling win over Salve Regina to collect his second and third markers of the fall.
The Lions sport a 13-1-0 overall record to go with a 4-0-0 mark to sit atop the New England Collegiate Conference standings.
