Men’s Soccer to Host Second Annual “Night of Nets” Awareness Game October 2
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team will host its second annual "Night of Nets" game on Monday, October 2 when the Lions' square off against Emerson at Veterans Memorial Stadium at 7:30 pm.
The "Night of Nets" initiative benefits World Vision's efforts to provide insecticide-treated bed nets for someone affected by malaria in sub-Saharan Africa.
"Night of Nets" is a global campaign and partnership to help end malaria. Campuses and athletes are joining together to defeat one of the world's greatest health threats for millions of people across the globe.
A limited number of T-shirts will be available for purchase at the game.
Eastern Nazarene head coach Mark Bell first became involved with the cause in 2010 at his previous institution, Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
"My wife and I have personally seen the impact that "Night of Nets" has in the lives of families living in Ndola, Zambia. We've been to Zambia and we have seen the work that is being done there through an organization in Ndola, called Jubilee Center Pastor Lawrence Temfwe and Jubilee Center oversee 130 local churches in the Ndola community." commented Bell.
Just six dollars buys a bed net for a family in Zambia. Donations will be collected at the game.
