QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw at Curry Wednesday evening at Walter M. Katz Field.
The Lions reach 8-7-1 on the season and 0-6-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the outcome. The Colonels move to 10-6-2 overall and 2-4-1 in league action.
The visitors snagged 1-0 edge in the 36th minute as Luis Lopez (Alexandria, Va.) netted his fifth goal of the season and Andrew Nelson (Burtonsville, Md.) collected his team-leading fifth assist.
Curry evened the contest at 1-1 in the 78th minute. Tim Stein found the back of the net off of a feed by Alex Goncalves.
Eastern Nazarene responded with a marker off the foot of Nelson to reclaim a one-goal lead, 2-1, in the 83rd minute. Nelson buried an unassisted tally to record his league-leading 11th score of the fall.
The Colonels notched the equalizer in the 88th minute as Matt Cotnoir fired in his seventh goal of the year.
The Lions finished the match with nine shots while the hosts registered 21 attempts.
David Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) stopped six shots between the pipes for Eastern Nazarene in just his second career appearance and first outing of the season. Dan Johnson saved four shots in goal for Curry on the night.
