BEVERLY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team fell to Endicott 3-0 Saturday evening at Hempstead Stadium.
The Lions slide to 6-5-0 on the year and 0-4-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls improve to 9-1-1 overall and remain unbeaten in league play at 4-0-0.
The home side got on the board in the 24th minute to gain a 1-0 advantage. Diego Maillo nodded in his fourth goal of the season after a corner kick service by Abdulla Al Khalifa.
Endicott sported a 1-0 edge at halftime after firing 13 first-half shots. Eastern Nazarene managed three shots in the opening 45 minutes of play.
The Gulls doubled their lead to 2-0 just 1:08 into the second stanza as Maillo netted his second score of the game and fifth of the year.
The hosts chalked up their third goal of the match in the 82nd minute. Shintaroh Itoh collected his third tally of the season off of an assist by Al Khalifa.
Eastern Nazarene concluded the contest with six shots while Endicott recorded 22 on the night.
Jacob Mason (Southport, England) paced the Lions with three shots and two attempts on frame.
Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Fla.) turned aside 10 shots in goal for the guests. Nick Weinstein made three saves between the pipes for the Gulls to earn the clean sheet.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will battle Pine Manor on the road October 5 in the first-ever meeting on the pitch by the two programs.
