LEICESTER, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's soccer team shut out Becker 4-0 on the road Monday afternoon in non-conference action.
The victory boosts the Lions to 5-2-0 on the season while the Hawks fall to 0-7-0 overall.
The visitors broke through on their 12th shot of the game in the 42nd minute to take a 1-0 lead. Senior David Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) rolled a left-footed shot into the back of the net for his fourth tally of the season after his initial effort was blocked by a defender.
Eastern Nazarene increased its advantage to 2-0 in the 52nd minute as Zachary Rodas (Douglas, Mass.) knocked in his own rebound to pick up his third marker of the fall.
The Lions tacked on their third goal of the afternoon in the 60th minute. Erick Pinaud (Norwalk, Conn.) registered his first score of the season off of a feed by Jacob Mason (Southport, England).
The guests chalked up their final goal of the day in the 82nd minute. Eddings finished off a setup by Luis Lopez (Alexandria, Va.) to notch his fifth goal of the year.
Eastern Nazarene wrapped up the contest with a 27-8 margin in shots and a narrow 6-4 edge in corner kicks earned.
Jameson MacFarland (Jacksonville, Fla.) recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season with a six-save performance for the Lions. Ben Cadman stopped nine shots between the pipes for Becker.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to action September 23 at Newbury.
