Men’s Soccer Adds Buford, Nelson to Incoming Class
QUINCY, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene men's soccer head coach Dan Visser has announced the addition of two newcomers to the program's Class of 2018. Dexter Buford and Andrew Nelson will join the squad in the fall.
Buford transferred to Eastern Nazarene after spending his freshman year at nearby Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A midfielder, he appeared in seven matches for the Lynx last season.
Buford helped his club team, The Art of Soccer Academy, capture the Triumph Cup and Julian Brown Cup titles while also reaching the finals of the Disney Cup.
Born in Dimona, Israel, Buford now hails from Atlanta, Georgia where attended North Springs Charter prior to attending Lesley University. He served as team captain for his high school and club teams.
Nelson is a midfielder and forward from Burtonsville, Maryland where he recently graduated from Springbrook High School.
He was named the Blue Devils' Most Valuable Player in his junior year at Springbrook High School. Nelson also helped the Pachuca Dragons to a second-place finish at the Disney Cup.
The additions of Buford and Nelson boost the Lions' incoming group to seven players as they join Omar Cruz, Salvatore Cuneo, Nick Fernandez, Chris Garcia and Logan Smith.
