Men’s Soccer Trio Garners All-CCC Accolades

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene men's soccer team placed three players on the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference teams, as announced by the league office Saturday.
Junior Edgar Arceo (Minden, Nev.) was tabbed to the All-CCC second team in his first season with the Lions while senior Josh Kaplan (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and sophomore Scott Hansen (Middletown Spring, Vt.) both earned honorable mention.
Arceo paced Eastern Nazarene and the Commonwealth Coast Conference with 10 assists on the year. He also tallied five goals to own the team-lead with 20 points.
Hansen leads the Lions with six markers on the year and ranks second on the team with 13 points. The sophomore netted both goals in Eastern Nazarene's 2-1 victory over Gordon on Homecoming before tallying the lone score in the Lions' 1-0 win over the University of New England in the regular-season finale.
Kaplan also ranks second on the team with 13 points on five goals and three helpers. He collected a pair of game-winning goals this season, including the golden goal in the 100th minute against Roger Williams. The senior also played a key role in the Lions' defense as he anchored the backline.
Eastern Nazarene posted a 7-8-2 overall record in the regular-season with a 3-5-1 mark in league action.
For the first time since 2002, the Lions returned to the postseason as the #7 seed in the CCC Tournament. Eastern Nazarene will visit second-seeded Salve Regina October 27 in the quarterfinal round.
