Men’s Soccer Notches Homecoming Win over Gordon, 2-1
QUINCY, Mass.- Behind a two-goal performance by Scott Hansen (Middletown Spring, Vt.), the Eastern Nazarene men’s soccer team posted a 2-1 victory over Gordon Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Homecoming.

The Lions improve to 6-8-2 overall and 2-5-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the result. The loss drops the Fighting Scots to 5-10-1 on the year and 4-4-0 in league action.
The Lions opened the scoring in the 17th minute as Scott Hansen buried his fourth marker of the season. William Campbell lofted a pass over the visitors' backline for Hansen to run onto. The sophomore booted the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper and into the net to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Gordon responded just minutes later, tallying the equalizer in the 21st minute of play. Ryan Daley served a cross from the left wing into the penalty area and Luke Partain one-timed a shot into the back of the cage for his third goal of the year.
The Fighting Scots sported an 8-5 advantage in shots and a 6-2 gap in corner kicks through 45 minutes of action.
Hansen struck in the 62nd minute to reclaim the lead for the hosts, 2-1. The sophomore redirected a shot by Luis Lopez (Alexandria, Va.) past the Gordon goalkeeper for his fifth score of the season.
Eastern Nazarene fended off the Fighting Scots for the remainder of the match to secure the victory.
Both squads registered 10 shots in the game while Gordon finished with an 8-4 margin in corner kicks earned.
Hansen fired a team-best four shots in the contest to lead Eastern Nazarene. Kristian Kasiguran and Partain both recorded three attempts for the Fighting Scots.
Sophomore Jake Johnson (Mount Bethel, Pa.) turned aside four shots to earn the win between the pipes for the Lions. Tim Hardy made three saves in goal for the visitors on the day.
