Clarke, Stockwell Capture NECC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Accolades
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Senior Devano Clarke (Lucea, Jamaica) and sophomore Walter Stockwell (Hyde Park, Mass.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's lacrosse team have been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, announced the league office Monday.
Clarke and Stockwell played key roles in leading the Lions to the program's first-ever victory, an 18-11 conference win at Mitchell.
Clarke notched a career-high 11 points in the contest, scoring a career-best four goals and dishing out a program-record seven assists. He also chipped in with five ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
This season, he paces the New England Collegiate Conference with 13 assists while also adding six goals and 29 ground balls.
Stockwell posted 17 saves in his sixth start of the spring between the pipes to pick up his first career win.
This spring, he ranks third in the league with 100 saves in six contests.
Eastern Nazarene sports a 1-5 overall record and sits atop the NECC standings with a 1-0 mark. The Lions return to action April 13 to host Salem State.
