McGuinness Garners NECC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Accolades
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Junior Bernie McGuinness (Cumming, Ga.) of the Eastern Nazarene College men's basketball team picked up his third New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week nod, announced the league office Monday.
McGuinness registered his fourth double-double of the year in the Lions' 69-68 loss to Fitchburg State. He scored 22 points and hauled in a career-best 17 rebounds.
In Eastern Nazarene's 93-77 victory at Medgar Evers, McGuinness tallied 17 points and collected eight rebounds.
On the week, McGuinness averaged 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field.
This season, McGuinness ranks second in the conference with 17.7 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per contest.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 7-8 overall record and travels to Trinity (Conn.) January 10.
