Baseball Endures 6-2 Loss at Rivier
NASHUA, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team dropped a 6-2 decision at Rivier Tuesday evening.
THE BASICS:
Score: Eastern Nazarene 2, Rivier 6
Records: Lions (4-13-1) | Raiders (6-15)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Rivier chalked up one run in the bottom of the first inning to claim a 1-0 edge.
- Eastern Nazarene plated a pair of runs in the top of the third to seize a 2-1 lead.
- The Raiders answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame to recapture a one-run advantage, 3-2.
- Rivier scored twice in the fourth inning to stretch the margin to 5-2.
- The hosts tacked on a run in the fifth to extend their lead to 6-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) finished with two stolen bases, one RBI, and one base hit.
- Anthony Ventura (La Romana, Dominican Republic) and Michael Monteforte (Wilmington, Mass.) both tallied one hit and one run scored.
- Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) added one base knock and one stolen base.
- Colby Rohr (Highland Village, Texas) hurled 3.1 innings and posted a season-high six strikeouts. Liam Bruskewicz (Granite Springs, N.Y.) tossed 3.2 innings of relief before Anthony Ventura (La Romana, Dominican Republic) worked one scoreless frame.
