Baseball Battles UMass-Dartmouth to 7-7 Stalemate
DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College baseball team settled for a7-7 tie at UMass-Dartmouth Friday.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UMass-Dartmouth plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to grab a 2-0 lead.
- Eastern Nazarene responded with a run in the top of the second to cut the deficit to 2-1. Eliel Florentino (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) slapped a two-out single to drive in O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.).
- The Corsairs chalked up one run in the home half of the second inning to regain a two-run advantage, 3-1.
- UMass-Dartmouth tacked on two runs in the fourth to stretch the margin to 5-1.
- The Lions produced four runs in the fifth to knot the score at 5-5. Eliel Florentino (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) crossed the dish as Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.) reached on a fielder's choice. Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) followed with a base knock to score Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) and Francis Ferguson (Jefferson, Mass.). Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) roped a double down the left field line to plate Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.).
- The hosts generated a run in the bottom of the fifth to seize a 6-5 edge.
- Eastern Nazarene manufactured two runs in the seventh to snag a 7-6 lead. Eduardo Labour (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) scurried home from third base on an infield hit by O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.). With the bases loaded, Michael Monteforte (Wilmington, Mass.) absorbed a hit-by-pitch to drive in Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.).
- The Corsairs scored the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning, 7-7.

- Anderson Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) posted two hits, two RBIs, and one run scored.
- Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) and O'Neil Jimenez (Lowell, Mass.) both finished with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored.
- Elvis Rojas (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) chipped in with two base knocks and a run scored.
- Luke Descheneaux (Lowell, Mass.) tossed seven innings and fanned three batters in his third start of the spring. Anthony Ventura (La Romana, Dominican Republic) worked two innings of relief before Frank Landeiro (Orlando, Fla.) made his first career pitching appearance, throwing one scoreless frame.
