Fourth-Seeded Baseball Travels to Top-Seeded Mitchell Thursday in NECC Tournament
QUINCY, Mass.- The fourth-seeded Eastern Nazarene College baseball team heads to No. 1 seed Mitchell to kick off the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament Thursday.

HOW THEY GOT HERE:
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with a 19-17 overall record to go with an 8-8 mark in the New England Collegiate Conference. The Lions topped fifth-seeded Southern Vermont 4-2 to collect their first playoff win since 2006 in the NECC Tournament first round April 30.
Mitchell enters the contest with a 32-6 record on the year and captured the top seed in the NECC Tournament with a 15-1 league mark.
POSTSEASON HISTORY:
Eastern Nazarene is making its 15th all-time postseason appearance and first trip to the NECC Tournament in its first season as a league member. The Lions reached the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament 14 times with their previous postseason berth coming in 2010.
LIONS VS. MARINERS:
Eastern Nazarene and Mitchell have met six times on the diamond with the Lions capturing one victory while the Mariners have prevailed four times and the two teams settling for a tie once in the all-time series. The Lions dropped a doubleheader to Mitchell during the 2019 regular season.
ALL-CONFERENCE ACCOLADES:
Eastern Nazarene garnered four All-New England Collegiate Conference selections, announced by the league office Tuesday. Brent Houle (Westfield, Mass.) and Steven Pesce (Harrison, N.Y.) were both tabbed to the All-NECC second team while Josue Basilis (Bronx, N.Y.) and Briley Seiter (Bellevue, Ky.) picked up third team honors.
