Eastern Nazarene Collects 30 Spring Academic All-NECC Selections
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Eastern Nazarene College landed 30 student-athletes on the Spring Academic All-New England Collegiate Conference Team, as announced by the league office Monday.
To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference honors, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's lacrosse, softball and men's volleyball were eligible for the award.
The Lions' men's basketball and men's lacrosse teams led the way with seven Academic All-NECC nods each. The Eastern Nazarene baseball and women's basketball squads garnered six student-athletes on the list apiece. The Lions' softball team collected five honorees while the Eastern Nazarene men's volleyball program secured three selections.
Among the recipients were six all-conference performers: Taylor Brandt (Napa, Calif.), Xavier Depina (Whitman, Mass.), Bernie McGuinness (Cumming, Ga.), Sydni Oviatt (Fruit Heights, Utah), Kiley Ozaki (Ewa Beach, Hawaii), and Jon Tessier (Coronado, Calif.).
