Women’s Volleyball Sweeps NECC Weekly Accolades
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Eliana Baran (Beaumont, Calif.) and rookie Sierra Troyer (Milford, Del.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team have been tabbed New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced the league office Monday.
Baran posted a pair of double-digit kill totals on the week, tallying 13 kills in a 3-0 win at Mitchell before notching 17 kills in a 3-1 victory over Fisher. She also chipped in with 14 digs, six service aces, and one block on the week.
Troyer tallied 22 kills, 21 aces, eight digs, and four blocks to help the Lions to four wins on the week. In Eastern Nazarene's 3-0 sweep of Lesley, she racked up 21 service aces and tied an NCAA Division III record with 25-consecutive serves, serving all 25 points in the final set.
Eastern Nazarene boasts a 19-1 overall record and leads the New England Collegiate Conference with a 4-0 league mark. The Lions return to action October 26 to host Mitchell in the final regular-season match.
