Women’s Volleyball Cruises to 3-0 Win at Salem State
SALEM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team collected a 3-0 victory at Salem State Saturday afternoon.
The Lions improve to 13-6 on the season with the win while the Vikings sink to 1-18 overall.
Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) racked up a team-best 17 kills and 13 digs on the day. Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) posted 12 kills, 19 assists, and four digs. Halle Julian (Whitman, Mass.) finished with eight kills and three aces. Samantha Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) notched 16 assists while Amya Altman (Butler, Pa.) paced the defense with 16 digs and Jessica Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) chipped in with 12 digs.
The visitors captured a narrow 25-22 win in the first set to grab a 1-0 edge.
Eastern Nazarene prevailed 25-18 in the second to double its advantage to 2-0.
The Lions rolled to a 25-16 decision in the third frame to lock up their 50th all-time victory over Salem State.
Haley Reed tallied a team-high 11 kills for the Vikings while Sarah Janco added seven kills.
