Timiera Toland Named NECC Women’s Track & Field Rookie of the Year, Sandrid Louis Earns All-NECC Team
MARSHFIELD, Mass.- Freshmen Timiera Toland (Baltimore, Md.) and Sandrid Louis (Coconut Creek, Fla.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's track and field team each received New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) honors, announced the league office Monday.
Toland was named the NECC Women's Track and Field Rookie of the Year. At the NECC Championships, the rookie recorded two top-5 finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Toland garnered a second-place finish in the 100-meters with a time of 13.68 seconds, while crossing the finish line fourth in the 200-meters at 30.38 seconds.
Louis earned a spot on the All-NECC Team after tossing for 24.63 meters in the discus throw to earn first-place at the NECC Championships.
Louis was also tabbed to the NECC Del Malloy Sportsmanship Team.
The Lions grabbed fourth in the team standings at the NECC Championships April 28.
