Strong Second Half Propels Women’s Hoops Over Anna Maria, 90-67

QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's basketball team surged past Anna Maria 90-67 Thursday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Eastern Nazarene boasted a slim 17-15 lead after the first quarter.
• The Lions outscored the AMCats 26-20 in the second frame to carry a 43-35 advantage into the halftime break.
• Eastern Nazarene owned a 22-19 edge in third-quarter scoring to extend its lead to 65-54.
• The home side chalked up 25 points in the final period while limiting Anna Maria to 13 points en route to claiming its fourth consecutive victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:             

• Kayla Taylor (Lompoc, Calif.) scored a team-high 18 points.
• Anaira Ayala (Guaynabo, P.R.) poured in 17 points off the bench.
• Sabanna Berrios (Providence, R.I.) finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
• Alexandria Paquet (Santa Maria, Calif.) posted seven points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
• Genesis McNeill (Providence, R.I.) added nine points, seven boards, four assists, and three steals.
• Eastern Nazarene finished with a field-goal percentage of 45.7% to go with a 5-for-20 showing from three-point territory.
• Anna Maria shot 35% from the floor and 40.6% from beyond the arc on the night.
• Arianna Gonzalez paced the AMCats with a game-high 19 points while Gina Parmenter tallied 18 points and Arianna Saladini chipped in with 10 points.
