Softball Earns Three NFCA All-Region Nods
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Eastern Nazarene College softball team received three National Fastpitch Coaches' Association all-region selections, announced the organization Monday. Aurora Adams (Fullerton, Calif.) and Taylor Brandt (Napa, Calif.) collected all-region second team honors while Jennelle Munoz (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) was tabbed to the all-region third team.
Adams earned her second career NFCA all-region nod after being named to the all-region third team last season. She paced the conference with 66 hits and ranked third in the league with 39 RBIs while posting a batting average of .455 with a slugging percentage of .717. She notched 20 doubles and belted six home runs while adding 30 runs scored and three stolen bases.
Brandt garnered her second NFCA all-region accolade after collecting third team honors last year. She registered 58 base knocks while driving in 30 RBIs and scoring 36 runs. Her .430 batting average and .704 slugging percentage ranked second on the team and fourth in the league.
Munoz grabbed all-region third team accolades for the second-straight spring. She compiled a 16-14 record in the pitcher's circle with 28 complete games to her credit. The NECC Pitcher of the Year for the second year in a row, Munoz paced the league with 216.2 innings pitched and a 3.42 earned-run average. She started 30 games in the circle and made seven relief appearances while racking up 106 strikeouts.
All three were named to the All-New England Collegiate Conference team while Adams and Munoz were also selected to the NECC All-Tournament team.
Eastern Nazarene posted a 22-22 overall record this spring and finished the regular season with an 8-4 mark in the New England Collegiate Conference. The top-seeded Lions fell to No. 3 seed Lesley in the NECC Tournament championship series.
