CLERMONT, Fla.- The Eastern Nazarene College softball team endured a pair of losses as it wrapped up its trip to the PFX Spring Games, falling to Arcadia 5-2 and D'Youville 9-0.
The Lions progress to 2-8 on the season with the two setbacks while the Knights improve to 3-2 overall and the Saints jump to 4-0 on the year.
Taylor Brandt (Napa, Calif.) notched four hits, two RBIs, and one run scored on the day. Darcy Castro (Garden Grove, Calif.) landed a pair of base knocks while Alexys Giddings (Kuna, Idaho) chipped in with one hit and one run scored.
In the matinee matchup, Eastern Nazarene dropped a 5-2 decision to Arcadia.
The Knights claimed a 2-0 advantage with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. Effie Jamanis singled to centerfield to drive in Megan Klose. Shannon Shea followed with an RBI base knock to plate Jamanis from second base.
The Lions leveled the contest at 2-2 with two runs in the top of the fourth. Brandt belted her first home run of the spring to knock in Giddings.
Arcadia scored three runs in the sixth to regain the lead, 5-2. Klose launched a two-run homer to drive in Nathalia Diianni. Shea laced a single to centerfield to plate Morgan Tripodi from second.
Jennelle Munoz (Lake Elsinore, Calif.) tossed a complete game and finished with two strikeouts in her eighth start.
In their final game in the Sunshine State, the Lions absorbed a 9-0 loss to D'Youville.
The Saints snagged a 1-0 edge with a run in the bottom of the first inning and tacked on two runs in the second frame to widen the gap to 3-0.
D'Youville added a score in the third to push their advantage to 4-0 before erupting for five runs in the home half of the fourth to extend its lead to 9-0.
Chelsea De Martini (Budd Lake, N.J.) pitched her first complete game of the season and registered two strikeouts.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene is slated to visit Regis March 19.
