Men’s Volleyball Drops Two to Lasell on Senior Night

QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 setbacks before falling 3-1 to Lasell in a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday evening at the Lahue Athletic Center.

The Lions move to 5-5 on the year with the results while the Lasers improve to 3-3 overall.

Prior to the matches, the Eastern Nazarene men's volleyball team honored its lone senior, Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.), the first four-year member of the program.

Alejandro Garcia Fernandez (San Juan, P.R.) notched 32 kills on the night to go with 12 digs and six total blocks. Tim Eddings (Endicott, N.Y.) racked up 17 kills and 24 digs in the two matches. Chris Jaskiewicz (Oakdale, Conn.) finished with 11 kills while Christopher Gil (Lawrence, Mass.) registered 25 assists and 11 digs. Fernando Paredes (Passaic, N.J.) collected 17 digs and Leonel Caceres (Newington, Conn.) added 18 assists.

In the opening match, Lasell collected a 3-0 victory.

The visitors cruised to a 25-13 win in the first set to establish a 1-0 lead.

The Lasers doubled their advantage to 2-0 with a 25-20 decision in the second frame before locking up their second victory of the season with a 25-19 win in the third.

In the nightcap, Lasell outlasted Eastern Nazarene to post a 3-1 win.

The guests claimed a 25-19 victory in the opening frame to seize a 1-0 edge.

Lasell widened the gap to 2-0 with a 25-18 win in the second set.

The home team rallied to edge the Lasers 28-26 in the third frame to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Lasell wrapped up its second win of the evening with a 25-22 decision in the fourth.

Brenden Joyce paced the Lasers with 16 kills on the night while Aaron Waitekus and Ryan Fuller both tallied 14 kills.

Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will await its opponent and destination designations for the NECC Tournament March 7.
