Men’s Golf Finishes Eighth at MASCAC Championships; Michael Dietz Garners All-Conference Honors
WEST BOYLSTON, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team concluded play at the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championships Sunday at Wachusett Country Club and claimed eighth in the team standings.
The Lions posted a team score of 644 to earn eighth place to edge the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a combined mark of 739. Springfield College shot a 316 to cap off the competition with a team total of 616 to claim the team title.
Michael Dietz (North Charleston, S.C.) earned All-MASCAC second team honors with an eighth-place finish in the individual standings with a two-day score of 156.
Jacob Waldroop (Newland, N.C.) also carded an 80 in the second round to finish with a final mark of 159 to snag 11th.
Brandon Brown (Oxford, Pa.) posted a personal-best 103 on day two while Jimmy Keuther (Marshfield, Mass.) fired a career-low 110 on the afternoon.
Springfield's Mike Strong and Corey Roya along with Westfield State's J.J. Newcombe finished in a three-way tie atop the individual leaderboard with Strong prevailing in a playoff-hole.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene will return to the links in the spring.
