Dietz Leads Men’s Golf in Season-Opening Meet
HINGHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's golf team opened the 2019-20 campaign with a third-place finish against Wentworth and Mitchell Wednesday afternoon at South Shore Country Club.
Junior Michael Dietz (North Charleston, S.C.) tied for the lowest score of the day among the field with a 76.
Jacob Waldroop (Newland, N.C.) fired an 85 to finish tied for sixth in the individual standings.
Chris Jaskiewicz (Oakville, Conn.), Colby Knott (West Warwick, R.I.), and Jimmy Keuther (Marshfield, Mass.) all made their collegiate golf debuts for the Lions at the meet.
Eastern Nazarene compiled a team score of 393 on the day.
Wentworth finished first in the team standings with a combined score of 327 while Mitchell posted a 347.
Mitchell's Nick Knisel also carded a 76 while Wentworth's Nick Kurtz, Sean L'Italien, and Jared Turgeon all finished with a mark of 80.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene heads to the MCLA Invitational September 24 at the Berkshire Hills Country Club.
