The inductees will be honored at the Alumni Celebration Friday, October 18 at the Wollaston Church of the Nazarene and Saturday, October 19 at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
Rebekah Corbin Crofford '92, Glen Fell '76, Rachelle Leger Fickess '97, Ed Gardner '98, Steve Noftle '82, Jerry Perera '79, Michael Rundlett '76, Jack Smith '59, and Tim Woodbridge '79 comprise the 12th Carroll F. Bradley Hall of Fame class.
Rebekah Corbin Crofford ('92) attended ENC as a social work major and was an award-winning athlete in both volleyball and softball. As a setter on the varsity volleyball team, Rebekah led her team to three-consecutive NAIA national championships during her time as an athlete at ENC. Her senior year, Rebekah earned the honor of ENC Female Athlete of the Year.
Upon graduating ENC, Rebekah went to graduate school at the University at Buffalo, earning her MSW and Ph.D. in Social Welfare.
Glenn T Fell ('76) was an original member of the Men's Cross Country team during its inaugural season his sophomore year. He was recruited as a freshman as he was often spotted running around campus and all over the Quincy community. Over the three years that he ran cross country for ENC, Glenn led the team and won several races, running a best time of 25:14 for five miles. He fondly recalls his time on the team, and especially remembers training runs into Blue Hills or along the shore.
Following graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University where he earned his M.Sc. in Agronomy. After, Glenn completed a two-year stint in the Peace Corps as an agricultural specialist in Barbados and later went on to earn a Ph.D. in Agronomy from Pennsylvania State University. Throughout each accomplishment, Glenn continued to run, participating in the Boston Marathon twice.
Rachelle Leger Fickess ('97) graduated from ENC with a bachelor's degree in Social Work. A vital member on the ENC Women's Cross Country team, she placed second in the 1994 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship and first in the 1995 CCC Championship Meet.
After graduation, Rachelle went on to receive her Master's degree in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY.
Edward Gardner ('98) ran Men's Cross Country at ENC while double majoring in Physics and Electrical Engineering. He also played a year of Men's Soccer upon returning to ENC as a graduate student. He was the top runner on his team all four years and won the Homecoming Invitational each year. Gardner was also the Commonwealth Coast Conference Individual Champion for two of his seasons and finished in second place the other two. Since ENC, he's ran in multiple marathons with a personal best of 2:39:30 at the Philadelphia Marathon, and a 6th place finish in the Providence Marathon.
Steve Noftle ('82) was a member of the Men's Cross Country team while earning a degree in social work at Eastern Nazarene College. He earned All-District NCCAA Cross Country honors two years in a row and participated in the NCCAA National Championship.
Jerry Perera ('79) earned a degree in mathematics while putting together an impressive four-year career as a member of the ENC men's basketball team. His decorated career included 110 games where he amassed 1,332 career points to go along with 496 career rebounds. His 51.5% career field-goal percentage ranks among the best in program history and helped him earn a spot on the NCCAA All-American team in back-to-back seasons as well as on the Associated Press' All-American Honorable Mention team in his senior year.
After graduation, his basketball talent led him across the globe as a member of the Athletes in Action USA/Canada team. He also earned a spot in the NBA SoCal Summer Pro League before returning to ENC as the men's basketball coach and as an instructor of mathematics.
Jerry continued his education earning a graduate degree in International Relations Diplomacy from LIU Brooklyn and a Masters in Management from Boston University.
Michael Rundlett ('76) While pursuing a degree in psychology, Michael ran Men's Cross Country. At the age of 12, he began running at the facilities of Tufts University near his home in Somerville, Massachusetts. The college's coaches and athletes noticed Michael and invited him to participate in their workouts and even gave him his own locker earning him the nickname "Iron Mike." Michael looked up to the older students and was inspired by them to go to college. At ENC, he was instrumental in forming a running club and, shortly after, the institution's first cross country team.
Michael continued his education at Colgate University where he earned a Master's degree and then a Doctorate from Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.
Jack Smith ('59) played on the Men's Basketball team while pursuing a degree in Philosophy. Jack has served the Nazarene Church in many capacities over the last 56 years—moving coast to coast several times and blessed to have his wife Darlene by his side for the majority of it. After ENC, Jack attended the Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1963, and later headed to California where he served as youth pastor, children's pastor, and Evangelism Explosion Pastor in a few different churches. It was there that he met life-long friend and mentor, Reverend Earl Lee. In 1977, at Pastor Lee's urging, Jack moved to Oro Valley, AZ where he founded Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene—a church that has continued to thrive over the last 40 years, Jack is grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to be a part of that endeavor.
Timothy P Woodbridge ('79) While pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Tim was a member of the Eastern Nazarene College Men's Cross Country Team. During his junior year, he won six regional races and in his senior year joined his team in qualifying for the regional NAIA Championships. Upon graduation, he returned to ENC to coach the Men's Cross Country team, leading them to a championship season in 1996.
Tim successfully completed the Boston Marathon, as well as hundreds of road races; however, he considers his greatest accomplishment to be a long distance run from ENC's Quincy campus to his home in Gainesville, Florida. Woodbridge completed the 1,350-mile journey in 34 days.
A total of 44 individuals and six teams have been inducted into the Carroll F. Bradley Hall of Fame since its inception in 1994.
