Women’s Cross Country Collects Third-Place Finish at Mass. Maritime Invitational
BOURNE, Mass.- For the second-straight year, the Eastern Nazarene College women's cross country team earned third place at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational Friday afternoon at Falcon Golf Course.
The Lions placed four runners in the top 15 to finish third out of six teams, just behind Rivier and Mass. Maritime.
Karen Diaz (Gaithersburg, Md.) grabbed seventh place with a time of 23:03 on the 5K course.
Rookie Makayla Grantham (Appalachian, N.Y.) clocked in with a mark of 23:37 to take 10th overall.
Jael Bourque (Nashua, N.H.) captured 13th place with a time of 24:15 and Katherine Sautter (Quincy, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 24:50 to earn 14th.
Hailey Dalio (Dartmouth, Mass.) posted a mark of 27:46 in the her first race of the season while Alison Morse (Weymouth, Mass.) clocked in with a time of 30:36 in her collegiate cross country debut.
Rivier claimed the team title after edging Massachusetts Maritime by just one point. Naval Academy Prep's Jessica Nangle bested the field with a time of 18:37.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will compete at the Westfield State Invitational October 7.
