Women’s Cross Country Opens Season at UMass-Dartmouth Invitational

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College men's cross country team competed at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday to open the 2017 season.
Karen Diaz (Gaithersburg, Md.) led the Lions with a time of 23:20.95 on the 5K course.
Rookie Makayla Grantham (Appalachian, N.Y.) finished with a mark of 24:29.74 in her first collegiate race.
Jael Bourque (Nashua, N.H.) and Eileen Hernandez (Rochester, N.Y.) also represented Eastern Nazarene at the meet.
New England College's Abby Shafer bested the field with a time of 17:53.2. Assumption captured the team title after placing four runners in the top 15.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will compete at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational September 23.
