Women’s Cross Country Races at Westfield State’s James Earley Invitational Saturday
WESTFIELD, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's cross country team placed 34th at Westfield State University's 20th Annual James Earley Invitational Saturday at Stanley Park.
Jill Russell (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) paved the way for the Lions with a personal-best time of 22:30.61.
BreAnna Fraser (Henderson, Nev.) crossed the finish line in 23:43.30 while Dezirae Maffit (Aurora, Ill.) posted a mark of 25:10.74.
Christina Bryant (New Haven, Conn.), Jessica Franco (Phoenix, Ariz.), and Christina Saint-Pierre (Lantana, Fla.) also ran for Eastern Nazarene.
New England College's Abby Shafer turned in the fastest time at the meet, finishing in 18:04.05 to take home the individual crown.
The University of New England captured the team title after placing three runners in the top-10.
A total of 409 competitors representing 39 teams tackled the 5-kilometer course Saturday.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to action October 16 at the Emmanuel College Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston.
