Women’s Cross Country Snags Seventh-Place Finish at Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational
WENHAM, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's cross country team earned seventh place at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational Saturday.
Jill Russell (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) turned in the Lions' fastest time of the day with a mark of 22:31. BreAnna Fraser (Henderson, Nev.) crossed the finish line in 23:39.
Dezirae Maffit (Aurora, Ill.) clocked in at 24:25 while Jessica Franco (Phoenix, Ariz.) was close behind with a time of 24:29.
Lauren Kett (Norwich, England), Christina Saint-Pierre (Lantana, Fla.) and Christina Bryant (New Haven, Conn.) also competed for Eastern Nazarene.
Tiana Thomas of the University of New England captured first place with a time of 18:28 to lead the Nor'easters to the team title.
A total of 129 runners representing 12 schools took to the five-kilometer course on Saturday.
Up next, the Lions will return to action October 10 at the Westfield State Invitational.
