Women’s Cross Country Runs at UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's cross country team raced at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Lions earned a 41st-place finish in the team competition.
Jill Russell (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) paced the squad with a mark of 23:23.25 to set a new personal best.
BreAnna Fraser (Henderson, Nev.) crossed the finish line in 24:11.61 while Dezirae Maffit (Aurora, Ill.) posted a time of 25:37.34.
Jessica Franco (Phoenix, Ariz.) turned in a time of 26:07.03 and Lauren Kett (Norwich, England) finished her first collegiate race with a mark of 27:31.04.
Christina Bryant (Guilford, Conn.) and Christina Saint-Pierre (Lantana, Fla.) also represented Eastern Nazarene at the meet.
A total of 315 runners from over 40 teams tackled the five-mile course. Brandeis captured the team title after garnering three top-10 finishers. East Stroudsburg's Allison Decker repeated as the individual champion, besting the field with a time of 17:40.82.
Up next, the Lions return to action September 26 at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational.
