Women’s Volleyball Battles New England College in NECC Championship Sunday
QUINCY, Mass.- The No. 1 seed Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team face off against second-seeded New England College in the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament championship match Sunday afternoon.

HOW THEY GOT HERE:
Eastern Nazarene finished the regular season with a 15-6 overall record to go with an unblemished 7-0 league mark to claim the No. 1 seed in the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament for the second-straight season. New England College earned the No. 2 seed with a 13-11-0 record on the year and a 6-1-0 mark in conference play. Both teams posted five-set victories in the semifinal round with the Lions edging fourth-seeded Mitchell while the second-seeded Pilgrims outlasted third-seeded Elms.
POSTSEASON HISTORY:
Eastern Nazarene is making its second-straight trip to the NECC Tournament and 18th all-time postseason appearance. Last fall, the Lions reached the NECC Championship match before falling to Southern Vermont 3-1.
ENC vs. NEC – ALL-TIME SERIES:
Eastern Nazarene and owns a 2-1 all-time record against New England College. The Lions topped the Pilgrims in five sets earlier this season. The two teams squared off in last year's NECC Tournament semifinals with Eastern Nazarene prevailing.
POSTSEASON ACCOLADES:
Eastern Nazarene garnered four All-New England Collegiate Conference nods, as the conference announce the postseason awards earlier this week. Sophomore Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) was named the NECC Player of the Year. Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) joined Aguilar on the All-NECC first team for the second-consecutive year. Halle Julian (Whitman, Mass.) and Rebecca Thorne (Quincy, Mass.) were both selected to the All-NECC second team.
KILLER QUEENS:
Sophomore Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) paces the league with 3.60 kills per set while ranking second in total kills with 259 on the year. Senior Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) ranks fourth in the NECC with 225 kills on the season and ranks fifth with 2.92 kills per set.
