Ruth Aguilar Repeats as NECC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week
MANSFIELD, Mass.- Sophomore Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the second week in a row, announced the league office Monday.
Aguilar helped the Lions to three victories on the week to extend their winning-streak to six matches.
In Eastern Nazarene's come-from-behind 3-2 victory over previously-unbeaten Plymouth State, Aguilar racked up a season-high 23 kills to go with 16 digs and two assists.
She notched a pair of kills and eight digs in one set of action in the Lions' 3-0 win over Fisher before posting 18 kills and 12 digs in a 3-0 victory over Nichols.
This season, Aguilar paces the conference with 4.48 kills per set, 121 total kills, and a .323 hitting percentage.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene returns to action September 18 with a non-conference road match at Rivier.
