Courtney McCarthy Collects NECC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week Honors
QUINCY, Mass.- Junior Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week for the second time this season, announced the league office Monday.
McCarthy racked up 19 kills, 22 digs, and nine service aces to help the Lions to a pair of conference wins on the week.
In Eastern Nazarene's 3-0 road victory at Newbury, she posted 13 kills, 14 digs, and four aces.
McCarthy capped off the week with eight digs, six kills, and five service aces as the Lions rolled to a 3-0 win over Lesley.
This season, McCarthy ranks second in the NECC with 3.23 kills per set while ranking second on the squad with 197 kills on the year. She has tallied 187 digs, 26 aces, 15 assists, and 13 total blocks this fall.
Eastern Nazarene owns a 17-5 overall record and enters the final week of the regular season in first-place in the league standings with a 7-0 mark.
The Lions return to action October 24 to host New England College in the final home match of the regular season.
