Ruth Aguilar Repeats as NECC Women’s Volleyball Player & Rookie of the Week
QUINCY, Mass.- Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) of the Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week, announced the league office Monday.
This marks her second NECC Player of the Week honor of the year and her fourth-consecutive NECC Rookie of the Week nod.
The Lions posted a 2-1 record on the week as Aguilar paced the team with 30 kills, 29 digs, 47 assists, eight aces, and four blocks.
In Eastern Nazarene's 3-0 victory at Mitchell, Aguilar notched seven kills, 10 digs, 14 assists, and four service aces.
She registered 15 kills, 15 assists, and eight digs as the Lions narrowly fell at Gordon in five sets.
Aguilar capped off the week with eight kills, 11 digs, and 18 assists as Eastern Nazarene knocked off Elms to remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Lions boast a 14-5 overall record and are tied for first-place in the NECC standings with a 5-0 league mark.
Eastern Nazarene returns to action October 17 with a road contest at Newbury.
