Women’s Volleyball Triumphs 3-0 at Mitchell Tuesday
NEW LONDON, Conn.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 victory at Mitchell Tuesday evening.
The Lions elevate to 13-4 on the year and 4-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with the win. The Mariners fall to 1-12 overall and 1-3 in league matches with the result.
Ruth Aguilar (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) notched 14 assists, 10 digs, seven kills, and four service aces on the night. Jenna Meacham (Millington, Mich.) and Rebecca Thorne (Quincy, Mass.) each tallied seven kills in the match. Jessica Caldwell (Quincy, Mass.) collected 12 digs while McKenzie Walling (Rock Hill, S.C.) added 11 digs and Rebecca Ashman (Havre de Grace, Md.) chipped in with 10.
The guests coasted to a 25-14 victory in the opening set to claim a 1-0 lead in the match.
Eastern Nazarene doubled its advantage to 2-0 with a 25-19 win in the second frame.
The Lions locked up their fourth-consecutive conference victory with a 25-21 decision in the third.
Ariana Carter paced Mitchell with eight kills while Laurissa Amaker finished with five kills and 10 digs.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene heads to the North Shore to take on Gordon October 11.
