Women’s Volleyball Prevails in Non-League Clash at Mass. Maritime
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team returned to the win column with a 3-0 victory at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Wednesday evening.
The Lions climb to 11-17 on the season with the result while the Buccaneers sink to 3-24 overall.
Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) racked up 14 kills and eight digs on the night while Jenna Meacham (Millington, Mich.) finished with five kills and 12 digs. Jaclyn Teed (Lansdale, Pa.) posted five kills and Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) chipped in with 24 assists and nine digs. Oksana DiCamillo (Eighty-Four, Pa.) and Madisen Robinson (West Grove, Pa.) both recorded seven digs in the match.
The guests seized a 1-0 lead with a 25-17 win in the first set.
Eastern Nazarene pushed its advantage to 2-0 after claiming the second frame 25-18.
The Lions cruised to a 25-13 decision in the third to lock up the victory and snap a three-match skid.
Marie Harrison paced Mass. Maritime with eight kills and 10 digs while Michelle Sheehan notched 14 assists.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene heads to Endicott October 28 for a tri-match. The Lions will face off against the Gulls in the final conference match of the season before battling Rivier in the regular-season finale.
