Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Pine Manor on Homecoming, 3-0
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team powered past Pine Manor 3-0 at the Lahue Physical Education Center Saturday afternoon during Homecoming.
The Lions climb to 10-14 on the season with win while the Gators slide to 5-14 overall.
Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) racked up 14 kills, eight digs, and three blocks on the day. Jenna Meacham (Millington, Mich.) posted nine kills, 15 digs, three assists, and two aces. Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) finished with 24 assists, six digs, and a pair of kills. Hailee Owen (South Portland, Maine) chipped in with four kills, three digs, and a team-best eight service aces.
The home team captured the opening set 25-20 to grab a 1-0 lead in the match.
Eastern Nazarene expanded its margin to 2-0 with a 25-17 win in the second frame.
The Lions capped off the victory with a 25-9 decision in the third to snap a five-match skid.
Alexa Leon notched 17 digs for Pine Manor while Ashley Whiteshield dished out 16 assists.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene resumes conference play October 18 at home against Gordon.
