QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team posted a pair of non-conference wins Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center, defeating Mitchell 3-0 and Pine Manor 3-1.
The Lions improve to 6-6 on the season with the two wins. The Mariners sink to 0-5 overall while the Gators progress to 3-4 on the year.
Jenna Meacham (Millington, Mich.) paced the hosts with 24 kills, 27 digs, and eight service aces on the day. Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) finished with 21 kills, 14 digs, and seven aces in the two matches. Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) registered 62 assists and dealt three aces. Hailee Owen (South Portland, Maine) notched nine kills and Rebecca Thorne (Quincy, Mass.) also collected nine kills and added four aces. Oksana DiCamillo (Eighty-Four, Pa.) chipped in with 14 digs on the afternoon while Monica Ly (Quincy, Mass.) recorded 12.
In the matinee contest, Eastern Nazarene cruised to a 3-0 victory over Mitchell.
The Lions prevailed 25-18 in the first set before doubling their lead to 2-0 with a 25-12 win in the second frame.
The hosts sealed the victory with a 25-13 decision in the third set.
In the tri-match finale, Eastern Nazarene rallied to earn a 3-1 win over Pine Manor.
After narrowly falling in the first set 25-22, the Lions roared back to level the match at 1-1 with a commanding 25-8 victory in the second game.
Eastern Nazarene vaulted ahead 2-1 after capturing the third set 25-12.
The Lions triumphed 25-13 in the fourth frame to secure their third win in a row.
In the middle match of the tri-match, Pine Manor claimed a 3-0 victory over Mitchell.
