Women’s Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Setback to Eastern Connecticut State
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team fell to Eastern Connecticut State 3-0 in a non-league tilt at the Lahue Physical Education Center Tuesday evening.
The Lions drop to 3-2 on the season with the loss while the Warriors improve to 4-0 overall with the outcome.
Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) paced the home side with 10 kills while adding seven digs on the night. Jenna Meacham (Millington, Mich.) notched a team-high 11 digs and chipped in with three kills. Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) finished the match with 21 assists and six digs.
The visitors rolled to a 25-10 win in the first game to establish a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Connecticut widened the gap to 2-0 with a 25-12 victory in the second set.
The Warriors completed the sweep with a 25-19 victory in the third to remain unbeaten on the year.
Abby Stern led Eastern Connecticut with 11 kills and 14 digs while Leah Sopneski recorded 13 assists, 12 digs, and four aces.
