Women’s Volleyball Downs Dean 3-0 on Senior Day
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2016 campaign with a 3-0 victory over Dean College Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center, in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
The Lions conclude the season with a 6-17 overall record while the Bulldogs finish at 8-15 on the year.
Before their final career home match, the Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball program recognized its two seniors: Vannessa Ebai (Hartford, Conn.) and Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.).
Joseph paced the Lions with 11 kills while Annie Heller (Hudson, N.H.) notched eight kills and six digs. Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) contributed with 35 assists, eight digs and three aces on the day. Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) finished with 10 digs and six kills. Courtney McCarthy (Merrimack, N.H.) chipped in with nine digs, five kills and three aces in the win.
The home side rolled to a 25-16 victory in the opening game to jump out to a 1-0 lead in the match.
Eastern Nazarene extended its advantage to 2-0 with a 25-13 win in the second set.
The Lions prevailed 25-19 in the third frame to seal up their sixth victory of the season, doubling their win total from a year ago.
Kaitlyn Anderson led Dean with eight kills and four solo blocks while Samantha Mulcahy racked up 22 digs.
