Women’s Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to Roger Williams Saturday
QUINCY, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team endured a 3-0 loss to Roger Williams Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Physical Education Center.
The Lions move to 3-7 on the season and 0-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference with the setback. The Hawks improve to 7-4 overall and 2-0 in league play with the win.
Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) notched a team-high seven kills while Annie Heller (Hudson, N.H.) finished with four kills. Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) paced the hosts with eight digs and 11 assists on the day.
Eastern Nazarene fell behind by a set after absorbing a 25-12 loss in the first game.
The visitors doubled their advantage with a 25-12 victory in the second frame.
Roger Williams claimed the third set 25-9 to secure its second conference win of the year.
Lara Lolacono paced the Hawks with 10 kill while Nicki Fallisi chipped in with seven kills and Julia Fields dished out 25 assists in the match.
"Our back row scrambled well today but we committed too many errors. We look forward to working hard in practice next week and focusing on the three matches," stated first-year head coach Kaylee Hewitt.
Looking ahead, the Lions return to action September 27 as they host Endicott in a CCC bout.
