NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women's volleyball team absorbed 3-0 setbacks to UMass-Dartmouth and Lasell Saturday afternoon in a tri-match at UMass-Dartmouth's Tripp Center.
The Lions fall to 2-3 on the year with the two results. The Corsairs improved to 3-1 overall while the Lasers jumped to 2-1.
Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) racked up 26 digs on the day, including an 18-dig effort against UMass-Dartmouth, while adding six kills and a pair of aces. Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) finished with 10 kills and Annie Heller (Hudson, N.H.) chipped in with five kills. Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) tallied 26 assists while Oksana DiCamillo (Eighty-Four, Pa.) recorded 20 digs.
In the matinee match, the home team edged Eastern Nazarene 26-24 in the first set. The Lions fell 25-15 in the second frame and 25-12 in the third to the Corsairs.
Eastern Nazarene battled Lasell in three closely-contested sets. The Lions came up just short in the opening game 27-25. The Lasers claimed the second set 25-18 before clinching the match with a 25-21 decision in the third frame.
Looking ahead, Eastern Nazarene looks to snap a three-match skid as it travels to take on Massachusetts Maritime September 15.
