QUINCY, Mass.- In the first Commonwealth Coast Conference match of the season, the Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Gordon at the Lahue Physical Education Center Wednesday evening.
Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) tallied a team-high five kills on the night to go with seven assists, seven digs and a pair of aces. Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) finished with four kills, five digs and eight assists. Madisen Robinson (West Grove, Pa.) recorded four kills, four digs and one ace. Viviana Coix (Warrenville, Ill.) and Oksana DiCamillo (Eighty-Four, Pa.) both posted seven digs in the match.
Gordon grabbed a 1-0 lead with a 25-15 victory in the first set. The guests picked up a 25-13 win in the second frame to take a 2-0 advantage.
Eastern Nazarene raced out to an 11-4 lead to ignite the crowd in a thrilling third set. The Fighting Scots battled back to level the set at 19-19 before scoring six of the final nine points to secure their first conference victory.
Mackenzie Hinds paced Gordon with 14 kills while Sidney Eisler notched 25 assists and Maggie Risma collected 14 digs.
