Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Setback at Rhode Island College
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team endured a 3-0 non-league loss at Rhode Island College Monday evening.
The Lions dip to 3-10 overall with the outcome while the Anchorwomen improve to 5-5 on the year.
Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) collected a team-best six kills on the night. Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) posted six assists, three digs, two aces and two kills. Madisen Robinson (West Grove, Pa.) led the visitors with six digs while adding a pair of kills.
The home team rolled to a 25-7 win in the opening set after scoring seven of the first eight points of the set.
Rhode Island College claimed the second frame 25-12 before securing its fifth victory of the season to snap a two-match skid with a 25-18 decision in the third.
Michelle Malboeuf paced the Anchorwomen with 10 kills and eight digs while Abigayl White dished out 28 assists.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will host Gordon September 23 at the Lahue Physical Education Center in the first Commonwealth Coast Conference match of the season.
