NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team endured a pair of 3-0 losses to wrap up play at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday. The Lions fell to Regis (Mass.) and Framingham State.
The Lions sink to 1-3 on the year with the results. The Pride improved to 2-1 overall and the Rams jumped to 3-0.
Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) notched a team-best 11 kills, 21 digs and two aces on the day. Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) registered 14 assists, eight digs and a pair of aces. Oksana DiCamillo (Eighty-Four, Pa.) finished with 13 digs while Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) posted six kills.
In the first match of the day, Eastern Nazarene suffered a 3-0 setback to Regis.
The Lions were edged in the opening set 25-23 before dropping the second set 25-10. The Pride closed out the victory with a 25-17 win in the third frame.
Eastern Nazarene capped off the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Framingham State.
The Rams coasted to a 25-5 victory in the first set and prevailed in the second 25-14. Framingham State picked up a 25-9 win in the third set to earn its third straight victory and remain undefeated.
Up next, the Lions will host Lesley at the Lahue Physical Education Center September 8 in the first home match of the season.
