Volleyball Dealt 3-0 Loss at Rivier
NASHUA, N.H.- The Eastern Nazarene College volleyball team fell on the road at Rivier 3-0 Thursday evening.
The Lions flutter to 3-24 on the season with the loss while the Raiders improve to 23-6 overall.
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W.Va.) led the visitors with 10 kills, four digs and a pair of aces on the night. Hannah Welsh (Derry, N.H.) finished with five kills and four digs.
Kayla Dean (Lansdale, Pa.) notched four digs and two kills while Vannessa Ebai (Hartford, Conn.) tallied four digs and a team-high three aces. Joanna Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) turned in a pair of solo blocks while Jaclyn Teed (Lansdale, Pa.) recorded a team-best three blocks in the match, including one solo rejection.
Setter Lauryl Berger (Laurel, Del.) doled out 13 assists on the evening while adding three digs.
The home team breezed to a 25-10 win in the first set to claim a 1-0 lead.
Eastern Nazarene fell into an 0-2 hole after dropping the second set 25-17.
Rivier edged the Lions 25-22 in the third frame to collect its seventh straight victory.
Up next, Eastern Nazarene will close out the 2014 campaign with a pair of non-conference contests at Rhode Island College November 1. The Lions will take on Keene State before squaring off against the host Anchorwomen in the finale.
